About Tui Farm Folk Festival

Tui Farm Folk Festival began in December 2003 and is run on the 25 acre farm of Carol & Stephen Rose over the three day New Year holiday.  So far, we've had eight festivals (we missed one last year) and they've been enjoyed by all who attended.  Our resource consent limits the number of ticket sales, so it will never be a large festival, which is exactly how we like it.

There is only one performance venue, which is a 25m x 10m marquee, with full stage and amplified sound system.

This festival is not only about performance.  We also have two smaller jamming marquees, one at each end of the festival site.   They each have their own fire and ambience and are excellent jamming venues.  We try to end the evening concert by 10.30pm so that there is still plenty of night left for jamming round the fires.

Weather - yes well we think we've had it all.  We've had hot & sunny, cold at night (good swimming hole weather); we've had rain (boy, did we have rain but hey, no mud!) and warm; we've had wind; we've had hail and even snow on the tops.  We can't stress strongly enough the need for warm clothing and bedding, especially the bedding.

One thing we do know, is that this festival works and is great fun in any weather, so be sure to book your tickets early.  The last two years have been sell-outs!!
